This means the digital slr crops out the center portion of a given lenses field of view, but the image is still at the full resolution of the digital sensor. The vantage location was chosen by Roi. And it is really a nice place. We were very close to the fireworks. <br /><br />今天全用的18-70mm套头,总共就放半小时焰火,没功夫换头了。全用的这个头，手动对焦放在无穷远，ISO 200，手动曝光，曝光时间从2秒到8秒不等，光圈f/12-f/22。<br />All pictures were taken by Nikon D70, 18-70mm kit lens. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Arthur Hunt, benefactors of the building, requested that nothing be built between the library and Forbes Avenue until after the year 2010. <br /><img src="http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/%7Eguyang/image/cmu05/DSC_0084.jpg"><br /><br />Hamerschlag Hall houses the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and laboratories for the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The building was renamed in 1965 for Arthur A. We arrive at Gatlinburg at around 7:30. A lot of things happened and we finally moved into hotel nearly 12:00am. <br />Our first destination was Cades Cove. We stopped at the information center for a while and then we were on the way to Cades Cove. Since this is a slow lens (f/5.6 at 300mm) while I wanted to freeze the motion of the high-speed skier, I had to choose a high shutter speed above 1/400 sec. However, most pictures were taken on the darker side of the mountain, the light was not enough at all. I had to increase the sensitivity to above ISO 400. Under such a condition, I got some blur and a lot of noticeable noise on the image. I did not use a tripod, so maybe some of the blur came from the shaking of my hands. How to get right focus on the fast moving skiers is also a problem with me. <br /> <br />Snowboard guys. Toeside ... It was a warm and beautiful day. Sunshine, fresh air and friendly folks join together to bring me a wonderful skiing experience time. I began with a green lane and spent most of the time on the two blue lanes on the north of mountain. Listening to the music with an iPod shuffle, scarf flying around my neck, I felt quite good skiing down the slope. It was really cool though I still rolled over and over, :) <br /> <br />I returned the boots stuff at 4:30 pm and walked up the slope shooting pictures. Those pictures are in Part II -- on the slope of today's post . <br /> <br />The following were taken in the practice field near the lodge. It was about 5:00 pm. I set the sensitivity to ISO 800~1600, and shutter speed 1/400 sec, to get more nature light and to avoid the shake coming from my hand-held camera. Unfortunately, noises were huge appearing everywhere on the image. I turned to <a href="http://www.neatimage.com">NeatImage</a> for help. You can find the latest version of noise profile for Nikon digital camera <a href="http://www.neatimage.com/noise-profiles/digital-cameras/Nikon/download.html#Nikon-D70">here</a>. Guo, Wei (in black, hand-shake grip), my friend in ece@cmu, is good at backhand stroke and forehand long drive.
